Exciting news and OPI My Private Jet

Sorry for the lack of posts.  I know I said I was going to try to keep up with my blog this time.  But the reason why I couldn't blog is because I was in Hawaii for 2 weeks. My boyfriend is stationed there so he bought be a ticket to visit him :) It was a fun, memorable trip especially since my sister and two of my really good friends, Lora and Ron came also.  But this trip to Hawaii was the most memorable because he proposed! :) I had no idea he was going to so I was totally surprised. Here are a few pictures my sister took.

So now that you know why I was mia the past few weeks, back to nails!  Here's OPI My Private Jet.  The flowers are from Konad image plate m82 and the color I used to stamp them is China Glaze Millennium.

That's all for now. Til next time! :)

OPI Ski Teal We Drop

As I mentioned in previous posts, I still have pictures I'd like to share even though they're months old.  This is one I did a looonng time ago, I can't even remember when. I used OPI Ski Teal We Drop then used Konad image plates m37 for the flowers and m36 for the butterfly with China Glaze 2030 as my stamping polish :)

Zoya Harley

Three posts in a period of one week?? That must be a record for me! :P Here's Zoya Harley as my base color. Even though Harley has a bit of shimmer to it, I decided to add a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust for extra sparkle.  Next, I used Zoya Kelly to stamp the zebra pattern from Konad image plate m57.  I couldn't resist and added a large silver rhinestone to my ring fingers.  Although I love zebra print, black and white zebra print can sometimes be a little too bold for me.  These colors give it a softer look.

OPI Rumple's Wiggin'

Purple is one of my favorite colors so I have a lot different shades of purple nail polish!  One of the purples I own is OPI Rumple's Wiggin'.  I liked how light and clean it looked so I decided to use white Konad stamping polish.  I also placed purple rhinestones in the middle of the flowers (Konad plate m29).

Quick update :)

I'm finally on spring break! .. sort of.  The school where I student teach has spring break this week but I still have to go to my classes at csulb and do homework.  I wish I could take a break from both at the same time.  This semester has been so busy, which is why I hardly ever blog.  Anyway, here are few pictures from MONTHs ago! :P

Here's China Glaze Mummy May I?  No konad for this one ..

Here's Essie Sew Psyched, stamped with flowers from Konad plate m31 and white stamping polish.  I also added a small silver rhinestone.

For this one, I french tipped my nails using China Glaze Liquid Leather then used white stamping polish and konad plate m80 for the design.

That's all for now.  I'll try to post more pictures some time this week. If not, the next time I'll probably blog will be about a month from now when the semester ends!

China Glaze Flyin High

Im sure many of you know who Thriszha from Fab Your Nails is and how creative her nail art is.  Last year in April, she created a full nail design using a small pattern and stamping it twice.  I loved it so much, I had to try it myself.  Although I read her post about it in April, I didn’t do it til September.  When I did my nails, I remembered the pattern she used but not the color.  I didn’t realize til later that I used a similar color :P Anyway, here’s how mine turned out.

I used China Glaze Flyin High as my base color, China Glaze IX (a dark brown creme), konad plate m9 and small silver rhinestones.  And here's our picture from konad night.

Orly Prince Charming

Just a quick post on nails I did some time in September. Here's Orly Prince Charming stamped with flowers from konad plate m31 and China Glaze 2030.  I can't remember if we had konad night when I did this and I can't find a group picture of our nails either.  Anyway, that's all for now :)

China Glaze Recycle

Hello everyone! I'm finally back with another post :) I'm still trying to catch up so this one is a few months old.  I thought I was done posting the pictures from August but I found one more.  I used China Glaze Recycle as my base color and the flower from konad plate m60.  I also added silver rhinestones to the flowers.  I didn't realize how uneven my application was until I took this picture in sunlight.  And of course, our picture from konad night :)

Light as Air + Grape Pop

Last week I forgot to post a picture from our Konad night. Going clockwise, mine is at the top, Clare's (Konad), Sha's (freehand using nails polish), and Stef's (freehand using acrylic paint).

I still have some pictures I never posted so I'm probably going to just keep posting them in the order that I did them.  But if I participate in a challenge or do something related to the holidays I'll post them up right away.  Anyway, here's one I did in August.  I used China Glaze Light as Air as my base color, China Glaze Grape Pop for stamping and Konad image plate m78.  I really liked the way this one turned out but it's probably because purple is my favorite color! :)

Here's our picture from Konad night. Going clockwise after my nail is Jess, Clare, Ria and Sha.

That's all for now.  Hopefully in my next post I'll have some type of Halloween design on my nails :)

China Glaze Liquid Leather

The other week I joined Thriszha and Mae's black and white challenge.  This was my entry for the challenge.  I used China Glaze Liquid Leather, konad image plate m57, and white stamping polish.  I wanted each nail to look different so I stamped the flowers one at a time and randomly placed them on my nails.

As usual, this is just a quick post to say hello and update since my last post was about two weeks ago :)

China Glaze Jitterbug

I didn't get to blog last week.  School's keeping me busy.  It's only been a month since the semester started but I already feel like I need a break.  I miss summer! :P Anyway, back in August I went to Vegas for a few days for my cousin's bachelorette party.  I wanted something that would match most of my outfits, which were mostly black, so I chose China Glaze Jitterbug.  I used a full nail design from plate m60 with black stamping polish.  I know it looks like I messed up on my middle finger but I actually messed up on my pinkie.  I started stamping at my thumb and tried to alternate the direction of the design but forgot to turn the image around when I got to my pinkie.  I didn't even realize it til a few days after I took the picture.

The picture below is from our second Konad night.  Not all the girls were able to go but the 3 of us still wanted to do our nails.  I haven't been taking note of the nail polishes they used.  Maybe I should start doing that.  But I'm not sure how accurate the colors look in the picture.  My sister, Sha, used her cell to take the picture because it has this auto and touch focus so it turned out better than the picture I took with my digital camera.

Okay, back to homework ...

Essie Splash of Grenadine

A few weeks ago in a post I mentioned that my friends and I were going to start doing Konad night once a week. We've been doing a good job getting together every Thursday. We've only missed one so far. We almost missed it again last week because I was sick for a few days. We cancelled it but ended up doing Konad night on Friday instead.

Anyway, this is actually from the first time we did Konad night. Now you know how far behind I am in posting pictures! I used Essie Splash of Grenadine, Konad white polish and image plate m26. At the time, I didn't own this plate and borrowed my friend's. I ended up liking the plate so much, I bought my own a few days after :) Luckily, I live about 15 minutes away from a store that sells konad. The only time I ordered online was the first time I bought my Konad set. After that, I looked at the Konad website and found a store called JK Emporium in Torrance, CA. I've been going there for over a year now and I love going there. The guy that's usually there is really friendly and very helpful. When a plate you want is out of stock, he'll order it right way and you'll have it within a few days. I also really like the fact that I can see the actual plates and go home with it if I decide to buy it! No waiting for it to be mailed! So if you live in the area, you should go there to buy your plates and polishes :)

Ok, that's all for now. I'll be back next week with another post <3

China Glaze China Rouge

In my last post I said that I don't normally wear orange. Well, I don't normally wear red either. I usually like wearing purples, blues, teals, grays and black. But I thought I'd give it a try. Here's China Glaze China Rouge. I ended up liking it :) It's a nice shade of red .. not too bright and not too dark. I used white Konad stamping polish and image plate m75. I also practiced Konaddict's technique on how to get the mirror image of a design. Learn how to do it here.

I forgot to take a picture of both hands but this picture shows the mirror image of the original design. It wasn't too difficult to do. You just have to be fast. Has anyone else tried to do it?

Hot and Spicy

Yesterday was the first day of Fall semester and I already have lots to do! But I wanted to do a quick post before starting my reading assignments. Here I used OPI Hot and Spicy, a bright orange color. I don't normally wear orange but I liked this one. For the flowers I used konad plate m3 and stamping polishes white, red, and an old bottle of white mixed with yellow. The red is kind of hard to see and the pastel yellow almost looks white in the picture but they're more noticeable in person.

That's all I have for now. I'll do my best to keep up and post at least once a week :)

Pretty Teal Flowers

This design was inspired by Deniz from Emerald Sparkled. I loved how she applied a dot of color underneath the stamped flower. A few weeks ago, I knew that I wanted to use China Glaze’s For Audrey and stamp with Sally Hansen’s Fairy Teal but didn’t know which Konad plate to use. After playing around with a few plates, I thought of the manicure Deniz did and tried it out. This is what I ended up with ...

Instead of stamping with Fairy Teal, I used it as the color of the flower and stamped with white (the flower is from plate m76). I also placed the flower at the corners of my nails rather than in the middle. It turned out to be one of my favorites! Thanks Deniz for the inspiration! I love your blog! :)

Milani Wild Violet

Here's another one I did a couple weeks ago. I used Milani Wild Violet and Konad plate m36. Wild Violet looks better in person. It has a hint of magenta when light hits it. I just realized that I don't like how the light shines on my index finger. It looks like I messed up. Maybe it's just when the picture is small? Oh well :)

Since some of my friends have joined me with the whole nail polish and konad obsession, we have decided to start a new weekly tradition of doing our nails together. We usually get together at our friend Clare's house and bring food, eat and talk .. girls night in. We thought it would be fun to add nails to our things to do while we hang out. We had our first konad night last week on Thursday and getting together again tomorrow :) Here's a candid my sister Sha took with her cell.

From left to right: Jess, Clare, me, and Stef (missing from the picture: Sha since she's the one who took it, and Ria since she had work).

I had such a great time that night .. can't wait til tomorrow! :)

Sally Hansen Fairy Teal

For this mani I used Sally Hansen Fairy Teal and Konad image plate m50. I really like this color and I like how the white looks on it .. it looks clean. It probably helps that I used a new bottle of white Konad polish. The image came out nice and crisp.

china glaze make an entrance

This is one of my favorite colors to wear ... it's china glaze make an entrance. I didn't want to cover up the color too much so I kept it pretty simple. I used the largest flower from image plate m57.

Hello :)

I know its been a while ... I suck at this whole blogging thing. But I still have been doing my nails since the last post. I just don't always take pictures of my nails. There were a few times I remembered and here's one of them. I used OPI Dim Sum Plum and Konad image plate m79. I used the top half of the image instead of the whole thing. That's all I have for now. I promise I won't wait weeks til the next post :P

It's summer again!

I'm finally on summer break! I have had such a stressful semester and I'm glad it's over! Since my last post, I've only taken a few pictures but since I'm on break, I'll have more time to do my nails and post more pictures. Here's the very few that I have. They're not much, just simple designs that didn't require too much time.

I love this color! It was sold out in most MAC stores that I
checked and online but I found it at Nordstrom.

I guess I had a blue/purple phase going on...

This is how I did my nails for my friend's wedding.
The design was inspired by the dress I wore.

That's it for now :)
